The task of editing is to correct spelling, grammatical and stylistic errors in a text. If omissions or inaccuracies are found in the content, they are marked and discussed with the author. The editor of translated texts pays attention to translation errors: missing part of the text, misunderstanding of the original, incorrect spelling of names, terms, geographical objects and concepts, historical events. Corrects omission or exchange of letters, incorrect spelling of capital letters, dashes - capital or hyphen, stressed vowels, numbers, dates, abbreviations. The purpose of language editing is to make the text clearer, understandable, logically connected and correctly written. It is mandatory to preserve the idea of the author. Editing of texts is done by a philologist, fluent in his native language (or the language from which the translation is made), with a rich general culture and diverse knowledge, with a sense of detail. Editors of specialized or technical literature can also be specialists from different spheres of life who are best acquainted with the specifics and subtleties of their profession: doctors, historians, lawyers, economists, engineers and others.
