UI Developer (6 months contract)

Key
Responsibilities / Duties:

·       
Review
product specifications in order to give development estimates and product
feedback

·       
Innovative
technical design and creative of technical specifications

• Code reviews, by and for peers


• Work in
  an Agile environment


• Technical documentation that shares knowledge
  effectively


• Communicate
  effectively with project stakeholders


• Stay current on new technologies as they relate
  to web-based application development.

 

Key
Working Relationships:

• This position involves working with and been part
  of a cross-skilled development team, and will have regular contact with
  teams looking after other aspects of Betfair products & tools.

 

Experience
& Qualifications Required:

 

Essential:

• Experience
  with HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, XML, JSON


• Experience with AJAX and JavaScript frameworks:
  jQuery, jQuery mobile and other micro-frameworks like XUI

·       
Complete
understanding of all browser based technologies, especially browser DOMs,
JavaScript, DHTML/CSS, performance

• Excellent analytical abilities and
  problem-solving skills

·       
Object oriented analysis and design skills
(OOA/OOD)

·       
At least 2 years’ experience.

 

 

Desirable:

·       
Experience
with JSF, Struts or other web framework is considered to be a plus if the above
are met

• Understanding
  of User Experience and Usability principles


• An eye
  for visual precision and attention to detail

·       
Understanding
of the full development cycle and some experience of Agile development
methodologies (SCRUM, XP)

·       
Experience
with content management systems
