Big Data/Hadoop Developer

CST LTD is a privately held Bulgarian IT company with expertise in the areas of Big Data, telecommunication, voice and mobile services. The company offers consulting services for the German and Swiss IT market and works with large telecommunication providers developing next generation communication solutions. 

We are looking for a motivated Hadoop Developer to join our team.

Job description

As a Hadoop developer you will be responsible for design, development and implementation of Hadoop related big data solutions including map reduce jobs, preprocessing and loading of varied data sets, enabling use cases related to data visualization & analytics.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Design and develop big data solutions using industry standard technologies.

- Develop big data solutions for Hadoop platform, leveraging Cloudera or Hortonworks ecosystem tools.

- Install, configure, and maintain big data technologies and systems.

- Respond to and resolve access and performance issues.

- Work with developers to evaluate Hadoop use cases, provide feedback, and design guidance

- The ability to work independently toward the completion of project milestones.

The perfect candidate for us:

- Has strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and distributed systems.

- Has experience with Unix/Linux based environments

- Has good experience with at least one of the scripting language like Scala, Python.

- Has working experience with Hadoop

- Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Has excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English (written and verbal)

- Is a self-organised and responsible person (working alone and/or in team)

Advantages:

- Previous hands on experience with Hadoop (Cloudera or Hortonworks), HBase, Solr, Spark, Hive, Hue, Kafka, Nifi, Storm, Flume, ZooKeeper, etc.

- Experience with information retrieval and machine learning
