Job description

We are looking for a motivated Big Data Programmer to join our team in Sofia and work directly with the CTO.

As a Hadoop developer you will be responsible for design, development and implementation of Hadoop related big data solutions including map reduce jobs, preprocessing and loading of varied data sets, enabling use cases related to data visualization & analytics.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Design and develop big data solutions using industry standard technologies

- Develop big data solutions for Hadoop platform, leveraging Cloudera and Hortonworks ecosystem tools

- Install, configure, and maintain big data technologies and systems

- Respond to and resolve access and performance issues

- Work with developers to evaluate Hadoop use cases, provide feedback, and design guidance

- The ability to work independently toward the completion of project milestones

The perfect candidate for us:

- Has strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and distributed systems.

- Has experience with following programming languages (Python/Perl/Java/Scala, Linux shell scripting)

- Has linux system knowledge and administration skills 

- Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Passionate about software and solving hard problems

- Eagerness to learn new technologies

- Has excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English (written and verbal)

- Is a self-organised and responsible person (working alone and/or in team)

Advantages:

- Previous hands on experience with Hadoop (Cloudera or Hortonworks), HBase, Solr, Spark, Hive, Hue, Kafka, Nifi, Storm, Flume, ZooKeeper, etc.

- Experience with testing scalable distributed systems
