Platform API Engineer

We are currently looking to hire a creative, enthusiastic & experienced platform engineer for a full-time, fully remote opportunity here at Screach. You will work within the Tech team, developing and maintaining and adding fresh new capabilities to our cloud-based SaaS platform and provide integrations with our technology partner’s solutions. As our API expert, you will help to ensure the quality, scalability, and extensibility of our platform.

Reporting to the CTO, your daily work will involve working with the latest and greatest cloud technology on offer from AWS to build APIs using Typescript. You will design, implement, document and test your code, collaborating with our diverse and highly skilled team of Engineers and the team’s Product Manager to ensure that the code meets the requirements of our customers and is delivered in a timely fashion.

Who are we looking for?

• 5+ years’ experience building performant enterprise APIs.

• Demonstrable experience working with Typescript, MongoDB and NodeJS.

• Experience of the AWS platform is beneficial, including Lambda, CodePipeline, CloudFormation or other.

• An understanding of event-driven architectures.

• Experience of commercial software development to deadlines.

• Experience of writing automated tests.

• Good communication skills, well organised, good time management.

• Experience of working autonomously and as part of a development team.

• Is committed to self-learning and skills development.

Duties

• Understand and practice our development process within the team.

• Assist in the design, implementation and documentation of complex features.

• Improve the quality and stability of the product with maintenance bug fixes.

• Participate in reviews or your own and colleagues’ code.

• Contribute to project planning by providing effort estimates for the team’s future work.

• You will be expected to document your work clearly and concisely in the source code.

• You will be expected to assist our Customer Support team to investigate customer issues

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.

• Previous experience as a Full-stack Engineer.

• Advanced programming skills.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Great attention to detail.

• Good project management skills.
