The challenge:

You will be part of a small team of closely working engineers needs reinforcement to continue to deliver a shared service in highly dynamic environment. We develop a multi-purpose subscription & payment service, which is going to be a key part in several client products. Being a part of big ecosystem our service itself represents micro service architecture to ensure scalability and fast development of features for several API consumers. We use exclusively AWS Serverless solutions like Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, AppSync (fully managed GraphQL API), API Gateway (Fully managed REST API) and we own our infrastructure, which means Gitlab CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework, DataDog for observability. To assure high quality we have 100% unit test coverage, e2e tests and performance tests.

In this role you will:

• Be part of the team when we together design APIs and QA strategy based on ambiguous requirements
• Maintain and develop the payment & subscription service
• Design the event driven architecture
• Define the specification based on requirements of the current API consumers, business strategy and technical constraints
• Analyze business requirements and define the specifications
• Define and write automation tests (together with a QA engineer)

Your essential skills and experience:

• Overall experience of backend development, at least 5+ years
• Proficient in at least one of the modern programming languages (we use Javascript and TypeScript)
• Experience designing distributed systems based on micro service architecture
• Experience designing API (we have REST and GraphQL APIs)
• Familiarity with AWS or any other cloud provider (we use AWS Serverless Solutions)
